THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR THIS AFTERNOON OVER PORTIONS OF
EASTERN NEBRASKA AND SOUTHWEST IOWA HAS UPGRADED TO A WINTER STORM
WARNING...WHICH WILL BE IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING. THIS
UPGRADE WAS PROMPTED DUE TO GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS FROM 20 TO 30 MPH
CONTINUING THROUGH THIS EVENING...CREATING AREAS OF BLOWING AND
DRIFTING SNOW WITH VISIBILITIES BEING REDUCED TO LESS THAN A HALF
MILE IN SOME LOCATIONS. ALSO...DANGEROUS WIND CHILLS FROM 15 BELOW TO
25 BELOW ZERO WILL BE COMMON ACROSS THE AREA.

TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS BY THIS EVENING SHOULD BE IN THE 7 TO 12
INCH RANGE.

THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE. IF YOU MUST
TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT...FOOD...AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE

NORTHEAST NEBRASKA THROUGH THIS EVENING. THE SNOW IS EXPECTED TO
TAPER OFF GRADUALLY THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HOURS...AND SHOULD END BY
EARLY EVENING. TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS SHOULD GENERALLY RANGE
FROM 3 TO 6 INCHES. GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS 15 TO 30 MPH WILL PERSIST
THROUGH THIS EVENING...CAUSING AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW
WHICH WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO LESS THAN A MILE AT TIMES. ALSO...
DANGEROUS WIND CHILLS FROM 15 BELOW TO 25 BELOW ZERO WILL BE COMMON
